Große Ruanda Safari (10 Tage)

KED Safaris Uganda’s well experience team will take you through the wonders of the mighty Rwanda inclusive of Akagera National Park Parc National Des Volcanoes , Nyungwe National Park, Lake Kivu, Butale, and Kigali-the capital of Rwanda. On the safari, you will discover the very best of cultures and historical sites of Rwanda. Anyone can engage in this safari through the year though the Gorilla tracking activity is physically demanding. We have come up with possible programmes which can also be tailor- made to suite your interests.

Day 1

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda where our team will welcome you to Africa and transfer you to your hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight. Alternatively arrive at Kigali International Airport be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kigali for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

After breakfast leave Kampala/Kigali and arrive at Parc National Des Volcanoes via Ruhengeri. Photogenic sceneries of cultivated hill of Kigezi and Rwanda may be viewed. Have dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest/Kinigi Guest house.

Day 3

Get up relatively early for a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for your Gorilla trek, you then get a briefing from the Park authorities and depart for Gorilla tracking in the tropical rain forest in pursuit of these habituated Gorilla families through the undergrowth and parting thick creepers. Ensure that you have lunch packed for you with bottled water as well. A reasonable degree of fitness is required.

Day 4

Proceed to the pretty town of Gisenyi after morning breakfast. The town is located on the shores of the beautiful and yet scenic Lake Kivu. After hectic previous days of travel and trekking, this is the prefect get away spot. Check in at Palm Beach Hotel/Stipp Hotel/Serena Kivu Hotel. Relax on the beach as you enjoy a ‘’sunset evening’’ on the Lake. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Head to Nyungwe Forest National Park after a morning cup of coffee or Tea and enjoy the panoramic views. Have lunch break in Kibuye town then proceed arriving in Nyungwe NP in time for dinner and overnight at ORTPN Guest house. Alternatively, a boat trip on Lake Kivu via Kibuye for Lunch may be used and the navigation is awesome.

Day 6

After breakfast with packed lunch, proceed to Nyungwe forest in persuit of numerous primates especially Chimpanzees and numerous troops of Colombus monkeys. These delightful creatures(Chimps) more closely related to humans than any other living creature, are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fluting trees. Retire later and come back to ORTPN Guest house for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Drive to the capital Kigali after morning breakfast. Visit the Genocide memorial of Murambi in Gikorongo. Have lunch break in Butare, after a visit to the handcraft village for souvenirs may be rewarding. In addition, the National Cultural Museum is worth a stop over as well as the Rayol Palace of the ‘’Mwami’’-the Traditional king of Rwanda in Nyanza. Have dinner and overnight in Kigali at Serena Kigali, Hotel Gorillas- Chez Lando.

Day 8

After an early morning breakfast drive to Akagera National Park situated along the Tanzanian boarder of Rwanda. Check at Akagera Game Lodge or ORTNP camping site for lunch. A variety of antelopes, Burchell’s Zebra, Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, and a variety of birds may be seen. After lunch, engage in a short game drive from which you would view a variety a game. Then later embark on a boat ride on Lake Ihema and you may view a variety of bird life (over 400 species) such as rare shoe billstock, African Jacana, a variety of heron, among others as well as numerous hippos, Nile Crocodiles along the shores. Enjoy dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge/ORTNP camping site.

Day 9

Proceed for a morning game drive after breakfast Northwards of Akagera as you exit the park. Drive through the scenic views of Kigezi having lunch at your request. Arrive late evening in Mbarara town in Uganda for dinner and overnight at Agip Motel/Regency Hotel/Arch Rwizi. Alternatively drive to Kigali for dinner and overnight at Serena Kigali/Hotel Gorillas-Chez Lando.

Day 10

Reserved for departure flight from either Entebbe International Airport or Kigali International Airport.
